Traditions and traces of a tough Jewish community.
It is a small museum about the “marrana” memory and culture (pejorative term of Spanish origin, meaning Jews forced to convert to Christianity, but who professed the Jewish faith secretly) and the culture of the crypto-Jews (Jews supposedly Christians because they were baptised, but who professed the Jewish faith secretly) who ended up creating their own forms of religion, because they were imposed an Orthodox Judaism.
The crypto-Judaism collection of materials, epigraphic and for domestic use must be highlighted. As well as a lintel with a lion of Judah sculpted saved from a derelict building.
Special attention should also be given to the collection of prayers that the Jews of Carção did from the 16th to 18th centuries.
A long memorial lists the names of the inhabitants of Carção that the Inquisition arrested and sentenced to death.
